Do You Change Your Own Oil??

Ditto, Mantta: just got through doing a LOF on my 86. Only trouble is sometimes I think I need a winch to get back up. I see a lift in the future.

And the answer is... you gotta be kidding!

I haven't changed my own oil for years... and the last time I did, I had to buy an oil pan, drop the skid plate, tore up my knuckles removing the filter, and it took me better than an hour... then had to dispose of the oil to boot! Not worth my time...

I always change the oil myself. I run Mobil 1 in my '02 Expy, and what I pay for the oil plus the filter is still less than what the local service center wants to do the job. And they don't use the synthetic oil. I learned early in my car/truck ownership life - if you want something done right, do it yourself. Obviously, some things, such as tires, are out of my league, but you get the point.
