1977 ford 351w v8, one wire alternator, points ignition.
this is a total rebuild with selfmade dash / rewire.
engine starts fine, runs fine, but when i pop the accelerator the gauges jump and my electronics reset themselves, according to my gps i have 13.8v at idle
gauges power are been fed directly from ignition switch
new alternator and wiring, can anyone help?

This may have nothing to do with your problem exactly, but...
I once wired a cooling fan to the ignition side of the switch so that it would not be left on by mistake. It worked at all times this way. When I went to shut the engine off, the fan motor would feed power back into the ignition, and the engine would not shut off right away.
Maybe you need to choose a different power source for your guages?
