My passenger window has become possessed. It will power down just fine but on the way up the motor spins but the window does not move. I can hear a 'slipping' noise like the track begins to engage but then misses. Has anyone had the same problem? If I need to replace the regulator, how hard is this?
Should be the same window regulator construction as in my 1990 F150. Had the same problem, motor slips when upward, then stops.
If you undo the upper and lower door panel, you will find two bolts which hold the front and rear window rail. Loosening and re-adjusting of the bolts ( which are placed in "eliptic holes" ) helped my window getting upwards again. Some silicon oilspray into the rails did the rest.
Hope it helps you as well......
Some fresh grease into the gears could also not really be wrong.
