Hi this is my first message so any help would be great. I have a 1974 F100 and am in need of an engine recondition. My problem is that I have a Cleveland 351 and am trying to find out a decent bore/cam/inlet manafold(to suit a new Holley 650) combination. I would like the truck to have quite a bit of torque but also able to drive confortably at 110Kph. I am in Perth , Western Australia but am willing to buy internationally for the right gear. If anyone has a successfull combination that they could tell me about that would be great. It is not going to be a street racer or towing vehicle it is just my weekend toy but I want a little extra from it. I am also looking for a good set of headers or extractors for it if anyone can tell me which ones are decent. Thanks heaps from Down Under!!

I will be using Premium here in Oz which is 98octane. I don't want to drag it or race, Just be able to smoke the wheels on demand and to have good responce. I want it to be a cruiser with *****. But more inportantly I want it to be reliable aswell, I want it to be as streetable as possible with as much grunt as I can get without sacrificing streetability.
Thanks
Honestly, Mark I think we should be asking you for advice. I believe you fortunate southern hemisphere English-speakers have pickups with Clevelands installed from the factory. We never did. I'd assume yours were cammed for pickup duty from Ford of Australia, which I would assume worked well. We don't have C-block headers specifically made for F series pickups as a result (you might!), and the few who have C-powered trucks here have to come up with interesting exhaust solutions on our own. I have an Edelbrock cam designed for an M-block in mine, pretty mild, but I wanted the pickup act as such. I also have an Edelbrock Performer and 600 Holley carb, but stock exhaust manifolds, the performance isn't earth-shattering, but it does get up and go. I'd bet with the right gears, you could use a middle-of-the-page cam from Comp Cams:
Well, I assume this is the 2v cleveland, so I would look at a weiand excelerator intake, or for a little more get up, and go run a parker funnelweb, he is in aussie, Maryborough, is the town I have on his card, and on dyno tests that intake out performed all of the other options hands down clear across the rpm range, and I would definatly look to atleast a 700 cfm carb maybe a 750 these things like alot more carb than you would think, also you have 2 companies down under that are making alum aftermarket heads for that engine CHI, and AFD, both of which would be a great upgrade if you have the money to spend, and for cams I like the comp xtreme energy series of cams, although you might try some of the local builders, and see if any of them have a local grind they like the Cleve engines were built alot longer in oz than in the us, possibly call Terry Parker, of parker funnelweb, and ask him for a suggestion I talked to him one night, and he was very knowledgeable on the closed chamber 2v heads I am running, and had some very good suggestions
Here is a Yahoo Group that is for 351C and other 335 series engine questions. It has a lot of information and a large number of members from 'down under'.
