Question disable the wastegate?

Has anyone tried this mod? I read in another thread that some people had removed the red boost line from their actuator and had their boost levels increase. I understand that this would keep the wastegate closed longer to build more boost. That would be fine for a stock actuator I guess but what about the banks actuator. Someone posted that they were seeing 30psi or more in boost levels wit their stock actuator. I know that the banks has a stronger spring so I was wondering if this is a safe mod or would it destroy the turbo? I tried it for just about two or three miles just to see what would happen and it seemed to have tons more boost. Just wondering if anyone knew the longterm effects after doing this mod.

mine has been disconected for over 2 years now. you can make even more boost with the stock set up by shortening the actuator rod(which tightens the spring) check out the 23rd post in this thread for instructions

I have already shortened the actuator rod on the banks bha so I was thinking that this is quite a bit more force holding the actuator shut than the stock setup. Seems like it would screw something up having so much resistance holding it closed.
I know that the stock actuator has a weak spring in it to begin with so I wonder if I should keep the airline on the bha connected since it is basically doing the same thing as unhooking the line from the stock actuator?

I don't know but it is past 35psi. I haven't hammered down for a long period of time because I'm afraid something will tear up. I know that it is opening later and when it does it is pegging out my boost gauge while I can still feel the boost increasing.

i think i would leave it hooked up, 35 psi is alot. if you start getting over 40psi you risk blowing the head gaskets out
