Back sensor volume level

A quickie question here. I think I know what I'm going to hear but you don't know until you try. The back up sensor on the BAT (Big *** Truck- The F in that acronym got lost somewhere <snicker>) is ear piercing. Is there any known way to quiet it? I'm gonna guess they didn't install a volume **** but I'm going to require a hearing aid soon....

Rumor has it the speaker is in the control unit, located somewhere in the passenger footwell. I imagine some foam or tape would cut the volume nicely, or you could get fancy and install a potentiometer.

I'll have to make an attempt to locate it and try the foam trick. My Dad was an Avionic Electronics Tech and I picked up some from him. Installing the potentiometer might not be that difficult given there is room to get down there and do it but the **** on the dash space would look kinda funny. LOL
