flathead auto transmission
I have recently purchased a 8BA flathead v8 with a stock automatic transmission. I ,so far, have been unable to find any information concerning this transmission. Could anybody please direct me to someinformation or possibly know anything about it?

You have the old Ford o matic Merc o Matic transmission. It actually was made by
Borg Waner Same type trans as the later Cruise O matic. Your tansmission starts out
in second gear in D. The later Cruise O matic had a sprag clutch which put it into low gear at breakaway in D. Cast iron body and they did sometimes crack at it center support bolt off the low and reverse servo.
