Just purchased a used 2000 Exc. Limited and the proximity sensors are not operating correctly. The audible alarm indicates when it is in reverse but the beebs do not increase with a more rapid beep when an object is in close proximity. I've taken the sensors (at leaset 2 of them) out of the rear fender and cleaned the connectors and the lenses all seem to be fairly clean. I have not purchased a shop, manual as of yet, but thought I would run this question through you guys to see if anyone had any bright ideas or have ran across this problem. As we all know the Excursion has fairly poor visibilty to the rear and since mine is lifted 6" it adds to that problem, so I would like to correct this (without taking it to Ford) first, if I can..........
Thanks Harry0,
I wish it was that simple... But I'm in California and it never rains here.
But I will surely give that a try when I get home...........

What do you mean it never rains here... ... perhaps you drove down a dirt road and those eyes in the back of your he..eh.. bumper are hazed?
