Does anyone know of a quick way to add a switch to disable the back up proximity alarm?? It drives me nuts when hooked to the trailer but I like it for when the wife is driving.
That alarm can be maddenning with anything behind you, trailer, hitch a haul... etc...
The 2002 Ex has a button to disable the backup alarm... You might look into the circuitry and switch from an '02...
Mine has it and every time I back donw my drive, it senses the Mailbox, the curb, I just tuirn it off as soon as I start there !
John,
My X is a 2000, and it has a switch on the dash to turn it of when towing! I would think you should have one too, next to the defroster button on the dash???
I have the switch to turn off the sensor, too. But it resets to ON every time you go out of reverse. So when backing a trailer and pull forward to line up better, it comes back on. I was just wondering if anyone had put in a toggle or similar to just shut it OFF.
Get the schemtic and put a toggle on the ground side. That will inhibit. I just turn it off every time a put the x in reverse to line up with the trailer. It is annoying, but a small nuisance.
