I just purchased a '74 F100 with 55K actual miles. It's completely stock and has a 360ci engine with a 3-spd manual trans and gets about 12.5 mpg. Is there a more fuel efficient carburetor I can use in place of the stock set-up? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for the reply. I'll consider your suggestion, sounds like $$ for all that stuff. Will start shopping around. Any intake or headers better than others?
Yep, hedman makes a good set of headers. Just get the Victor Nitroseal gaskets and they wont leak. I would also advise a set of the soft aluminum collector gaskets; I've had bad luck with the regular ones.
This is all good information... I've been looking around at headers, intakes and carbs; just need to finish the other project before I start another! Besides, the truck runs fine for the short term but, at $2.38/gallon here in So. Cal., I may need to do something sooner than later.
