i checked summit for a header and all i found is dual exhaust header. is their a 6 to 1 header for the 300? or should i use a dual system? or just efi manifolds? it is a 1980 withevery thing gone of the engine and it still be able to run so ive got plenty of room under the hood
one more, as i was looking for the header at summit their was an option for engine swap yes/no what does that mean?
i dont know where u were but could u tell me what u did? u mean u found a summit brand header? i know the hedman is a duel outlet just like the EFI manifolds...they used to make it in a 6-1 outlet but they arent easy to come by. i have seen them on ebay before tho. i would get the 3/3 header, have a y-pipe or crossover and go from there.
I had an 81 in Alaska. The Exhaust Manifold cracked at the junction, just under the Intake manifold.
I went to the Emissions Referee and explained we could get Headers, that would function the same as the original.
He didn't care about form or function.
Headers wont pass!
That was a shock. I know this guy is a burearcrat, and has to stick to h is rules, but he is also the Referee. He's supposd to be able to make decisions on non-stock parts.
He didn't even look. If it's not stock, it wont pass.
I dont know who makes the single exhaust manifolds now. Ford is out of stock, most wrecking yards are out of them too.
But if you have emissions to deal with, you better give up the Headers idea and look for the real thing.
