I get the impression that you want to keep the 78 and if that is the way you feel you should do that and sell the Ranger. If you will kick yourself if you sell it because of all of the work that you have done to the truck. IMHO

thanks for the opinions everyone!! I was leaning towards keeping the 78,you guys just gave me a little motivation in that direction . Gas mileage is not really that much of an issue. I use my jeep xj cherokee for highway trips,so the truck will be only used for work and hauling stuff...Ben

as much as i love my ranger (and im on my 2nd) id keep the '78. sure it will use more fuel, but there's always plenty of rangers, not as many of the classic full-sized fords from the 73-79 era.

Yeah, a 78 with a strong 351 would be hard to beat for usefullness, you can always get another ranger if you really want or need it.

You got that right... Hardly a day goes by when I don't regret selling my '78 F150 4x4...

After owning a red 67 big block fastback Mustang for 11years I sold it 4 years ago. Then 3 weeks ago I bought it back for almost twice the price! Sure did miss that car even though I have a 65 Mustang F/B and an 88 Cobra. Moral of the story don`t sell it, keep it if you can and store it.
