CB Radio Installation

I want to install my Cobra 18WXSTII CB in my 2004 Ranger. Because I have the full center consol, my only mounting place is slightly above and to the right of the hood release lever.

Are their any electronic components on the other side of that area that could be damaged by drilling holes through the dash?

Also, I would like to run the red power wire directly to my battery. Is there a hole in the firewall that I could feed the wire through or am I stuck with the cigarette lighter adapter?

Thanks

I would just crawl under the dash and take a look.

Never wire anything directly to the battery, always put a fuse in the wire. There should be a few spots were the factory wiring goes that you can feed your wire(s) through.

I would suggest hooking it up to your fuse box, but make sure you put an inline fuse on the wire.
