OK, I did the search thing and am still as confused by the various replies as before.
I had been having a tough time locally finding test strips, so I went to my local Peterbilt dealer's parts counter and they sold me a Pencool test strip kit. I dipped the coolant and found it was low, so I bought a couple of pints of Pencool and dumped one in. The test strip now reads in the normal range.
The question that arises from all this is that the Pencool is purple and the coolant green. The mix is neither, and I've got funny looking coolant now.
Has anybody else used Pencool, and what were your results?
It will be ok no need to think to much about it I use pencool in over 100 big trucks Cat 3406's C-12 and C-15 some with over a million miles. And my 97 PSD Pencool's good stuff
