Question RABS Bronco II

Anybody have the correct procedure for bleeding the Rear brakes and RABS controller for an 87 Bronco II?

Does it require a special tool? and what does the tool do and where does it go?

I don't know of anything special as far as tools or procedure.

87 BII Brakes

Pretty straight forward. Keep reservoir full at all times. Have assistant pump brakes while you bleed each wheel starting from the farthest from the master cylinder. Use a length of rubber hose attached to the bleeder valve at one end and the other end submerged in brake fluid. Pump until no bubbles. Same for the preasure diierential valve. After you are done, if the warning light is still on you must centralize the preasure differential valve. Turn on the ignition to on, depress the brake pedal and the peasure switch should center itself causing the brake warning light to go out. Turn off the ignition switch and test brakes. No special tools, you should have a bleeder valve tool just to make it easier......

Hope this helps.

Good luck!

Should the RABS proportioning valve be bled first or last?

I would just bleed them in the normal order and not worry about the valve.

Thats correct. Bleed the valve only if air gets trapped after it is has been replaced or system won't equalize and center up.

Good luck!
