Question Stress headaches

Ive been having stress headaches (dunno what else they could be) for a few months now. Those of you who have had them or get them, what do yall do abot them? Is there anyway to make them go away for a while? Advile, Tylenol, IB-Profen, non of those seem to work. What can I do?

Try Aleve or Midol.

Yeah I know. They are made for those women in their special time.

But they work great for hangovers (worst headaches I've ever had), so they should work for your stress headaches.

This is goin to sound strange but it works for me... I am left handed so I do it backwards...

spread out all your fingers on one hand(including thumb) ... now between your thumb and your pointer finger, just where the muscle starts, take your other hand and with your thumb and first finger squeeze that area just hard enuff so it dont hurt and hold for as long as you can... your headache will go away.

This is a pressure point and get rid of all the head aches I ever get.. There is also a spot on your foot but that is way to hard to explain and not as accessible all the time

Hope you could understand and I hope it works for you

Hi Taz, I am also left handed. We are gifted to be able to use all the right handed stuff in the world.

Yep the pressure point trick does work, also Excedrin Extra Strength or a cup of really strong coffee, I used to get those headaches all the time and the doc explained it to me like this.....

Headaches are the blood vessels in your head opening and closing and are exagerated by a chemical imbalance created by your stress level. When the blood vessels expand is when you feel the throbbing, caffiene constricts your blood vessels and eases up that throbbing.

Good luck with the headaches... you just have to learn to de-stress... shoot skeet... I have developed an ulcer and a stress rash that showed up first week of the term... I need to learn to calm down... grrr

I get stress headaches, too. Sometimes they are so debilitating that all I can do is just go to a dark room and sleep, or meditate. You have to fiind a way to get your body to relax. Napricin might work for you, but I finally found an over the counter med that works most of the time- excedrin for tension headaches. It has 25mg of caffeine added. I am a coffee drinker, so I didn't think the little bit of extra caffeine would be of much help, but tried it, and it worked!

I also found that if I switch the types of pain releiver I take occasionally, I get better results. I guess your body gets used to a certain kind???
