general truck info

Here is what i need to know. Is the gas mileage diferance on the 302 a big one compared to the 351? Also what do 302 & 351 mean? Oh, and when you say i have a 5.0 L engine, what in the engine actually has to do with 5.0 L?

Thanks alot,

Scott Woodward

Fuel mileage on those two engines has mostly to do with how it is geared. A high geared 351 will get better fuel economy than a low geared 302. 302 and 351 are the cubic inche displacements of the two engines. Both are V8's. Both good engines for the most part. 351 has a little more power but then again goes to how it's geared.

Question

when you say cubic inch displacements, what is being displaced? And when you have a 5.0L engine what in the engine has 5.0L? How much would it cost to get a truck geared higher and how high should i gear it. Also were could i have this done

Thanks again
