Ok guys i did a search and no real results. so what is a good exhaust to get that will give a better sound, better performance but not cost me a years worth of gas for this beast. any suggestions would be great
don't waste your time with magnaflows. I haven't ever heard anything so horrid. I'm not sure if bassani makes something for your v-10, but I have it on my cobra and I love it. Also check spin-tech, hooker aero-chambers, or ever good ol slowmasters.
I have a Borla 2.5" exhuast system that is sure to last as long as my truck. Sounds good and I was told (no dyno) that the system was good for about 10-15 hp...I'm gonna guess closer to the 10HP as the restriction seems to be at the "Y" pipe.
I was told that Gibson makes some headers and an improved Y for an added 15-20HP if you got the bucks to go all of the way.
I just had my local muffler guy install an "Allied" muffler (straight pipe through muffler), cost was reasonable (140 bucks OTD), used stock tailpipe put chrome tip on it and raised it up level so its not hanging down, has a good tone, and gained 2 MPG... happy so far.
I run the factory cat (gutted), to a SuperTrapp muffler that ends just before the rear diff. Sounds great, and I can tune it by adding or removing discs. After gutting the cat I noticed a pretty substantial butt-o-meter gain. Been saving up for headers/y pipe to finish the deal.
Did you gutt the factory cat while it was still attached to the truck? I'd like to clean mine out, but if I cut the pipe and reweld it, the air police here will not pass it.
Just looking for ideas to drill it out while it is still on the truck.
