A couple of weeks ago we went on a vacation to see some family members. when we come back i decide "hey the lawn needs mowed ill bust out the push and mow real quit" ha real quick right. well it wasnt cutting so i shut if off and look underneath an man the blade was bent to heck it look like a upside down "U". i then noticed that the blade was on upside down and it had just been sharpened. when we left the last thing i did was mow and i know it wasnt like this befor. so im guessin my bro "barrowed" my mower and hit something and tried to fix it and put it on upside down. well i fix all that and i go to start it and it starts just fine and runs good for 5 seconds. blue smoke everywhere just pouring it out the exaust . well i did everything i could think of, i changed oil, removed head and cleaned until spotless, used dremel to clean carbon deposits from around the vavles and im lost. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. sorry so long.

by the way its a 22 inch cut 4 horse no name push
With a blade bent like that I would say your crankshaft is bent. The oil smoke is most likely from the mower being tiped on its side when the "oh crap" work was done, look at your air filter to see if its wet with oil. I bet this thing shakes badly when its running. If I were you I would not buy a new blade for it due to the crank, around here you can get a new push mower for less than a new crank.
You can straighten th crank, all you need is a straight-edge and a piece of pipe. You will howeve need to replace the bushing the motor. The nice thing is if the cylinder bore is in good shape you can rebuild most briggs and stratton engines for under $50.....
9 out of 10 times when you hit something the flywheel key shears to protect the crank shaft. If oil is not coming out the bottom then your shaft is more than likely not bent. If oil is coming out of the muffler then as said when you tilted the mower you filled the carb with oil or got oil in the cylinder. Always tilt away from the cylinder or carb.
Clean the filter and carb and while it is down turn the mower on it's side, rest a straight egde on the shaft and pull the motor over slow if the shaft is bent you will see the shaft move. I would not try and straighten it because it could be bent inside the case but even if it were not you could crack the case with the pressure from bending.
