gas mileage

What are some of you guys getting for gas mileage out of your 2.9's. My 90 Baby bronco appears to be getting on average about 17 mpg. This is highway and city driving. It just seems like it used to be a little better when I bought it last year.

People who say it can't be done should not interrupt the person doing it.

Hey I have a 1990 BII and I get in the neighborhood of 20 -21 mpg. Mine also has a 2.9 with automatic and overdrive. This milage is also city and highway. I will see how it does tomorrow we are going on a campimg trip and I am pulling my boat. It should be a good test for the mileage sinc it will be about 110 miles one way.

Just got back from my trip and my little 1990 BII did great. It got 20 miles to the gallon loaded with camping gear, four passengers, and pulling a boat. I have no complaints.

I get 21 MPG on my 90 that has 221,000 miles. The engine is completely original (except water pump) and runs great. The transmission (automatic) has 40,000 miles on it and doing well. One cure for sagging gas mileage could be the O2 sensor. I could only get about 17 to 18 MPG on my Bronco before I replaced the sensor. Just a thought. If anyone is from the Eastern Kentucky area, i'm selling the Bronco. Email at ccande0(No Email Addresses In Posts!) for details.

Thanks

I used to get about 20 miles to the gallon (260 miles to a tank), but it has shot down. Last summer it went down to like 10 miles a gallon (130 miles to a tank), but it's getting better again, getting around 160 miles to a tank.
I just wish I knew what the problem was.

Well I put on about 375 highway miles on my 90 bronco 2 this past weekend and burned about 18 gallons. So I still had 5 gallons to go. I guess I can't complain about that.
