I would see what it's like in a month or two. I know it sound rediculous but my mileage has gone up 20% since a month or two. This happens every year with winter-blend fuels.

Maddogken,

If you could provide some more information about your truck it would help people render a guess as to the cause.

How many miles are on the truck?
Auto or standard?
Average daily drive to work?
Driving conditions?
When was the fuel filter last changed?
When was the air filter last replaced?
When were the plugs last replaced?
Tire size?
Tire pressure?
Gear ratio?
Any modifications?
Any CEL's or mechanical issues that correspond with the drop in mileage?

If you can put some time into your post I think you'll find people will put some time into formulating an answer.

Mile's right, more information is needed. For instance I have a 2005 V10 dually that I occasionally throw over 100 60-pounds bags of cement into ( the weight of two small cars), that gets wonderful gas mileage at about 10 mpg in winter. What kind of mileage are you getting?

it has 199,000 miles on it, it has auto tranny, it is just driven on trips mostly on the interstate, dont know about fuel filter but has new air filter, it has 285-75-16 tires, 3:73 gears and it is bone stock.
thanks,David

Maddog,
you still never told us what milage you are getting???

What do you think you should be gettng???

Remember one thing when on this site, when reading other peoples posting make sure you look at what they have.

Ex. I have a 5.4L that was made in 2004. Which means I have a 2v engine. I know that a person who has a 2006 5.4L is going to get better milage than me because they have a 3v engine. So if they say they are getting 15mpg and I say I am getting 12mpg. That should make sense, because the 2v just aren't as efficient as the 3v. I know I will never see 15mpg with my truck.
You have a 2v engine so you will see a little less mpgs than someone who has a V10 3v engine.

Actually not.

The 3V engines are not only in heavier trucks but they also produce more HP/TRQ than the 2V variant which burns more fuel.
