I am eventually(end of the year) going to get a 6" lift and have narrowed my choices to Fabtech and Procomp (like there is much else out there lol). Techically what is the difference between the two lifts? Do both keep suspension settings optimized? Anything else I need to know about the lifts? Pros or cons to either?
I also plan on doing the coilover swap. Which coilovers would be best to go with? Procomps or Fabtech "Dirt Logic" (Fox)? Any advantages to either? Pros or cons?
Also I know the Dirt Logic coilover allows an additional inch of height adjustment, for a total of 7", which I will need as I plan to run a 36-37" tire. Will Procomps coilover allow this adjustment? Will I be able to fit 37's with both setups?
Help please, I really am not sure which one to go with. Most I have talked to have said Fabtech, but two out of the four shops I have talked to have said Procomp has less problems, while the other two shops said they wouldnt sell me Procomp as it was a crappy lift. HELP!!! :help:

P.S. Also I am curious as to what rear shocks I should go with. I want a shock with a resivor, more for looks than anything else (lol), but also like the functionality that they have. I like Fox, King, and Procomps MX-6 Reservoir. Any thoughts on this???
Your skyjacker lift looks sweet! I like the skidplate. Are those Skyjackers coilovers? Do they allow any additional height adjustment like fabtechs coilovers?
Also what price range did the lift cost w/everything?
Just went to the Ford dealership, which also owns offroad shop. I will not name the company for what I am about to say. The offroad shop installs all the lifts for the new F150 for this dealership. Basic lift consist of 17 x 8.5 WELD EVO/American Racing wheels (4-5inch backspace) with BFG 315X70X17 (basically a 35" tire) and 6inch lift. They use to use FABTECH, but not anymore. FABTECH does not ride as good and the installation for the F150 is not that great according to the techs. They will not install FABTECH unless the customer wants this lift.
The lift they like the best is PROCOMP 6 inch lift (basic with out the coilovers). The ride that everybody likes in the new F150 is kept the same without the coilovers. Also they will paint the rear shocks whatever color you like because they come in white.
I have my schedule to get my lift next week. The cost is $5200.00 just because I got the WELD EVO Renagade wheels. Also, my warranty will be the same due to the dealership. Reminder you will need the SUPERCHIPS MICROTUNER if you want to make adjustment to your speedmeter due to increase tire size.
My impression with the lifts at the dealership is a good fit. The lift looks good and not gawdy. The offroad shop did some experiments with different rims. Do not get 17X10s which I have seen. Your truck will look like crap.
Hoff, your truck looks awesome. I love it. That is what I want with the exception of tires/wheels. I want the same size, just different wheels I think, Hell I don't know I can't decide. I DO like the Skyjacker lift though. I was also torn between Procomp, Fabtech, Rancho, and Skyjacker, but I have made my decision on lift for sure.
Just got my SC back Friday with Pro Comp's 6" lift, MX6 rear shocks, Pro Comp front coil overs, Weld Cheyenne wheels, Pro comp 35" x 12.50 x 17" XTerraines.
The coils are adjustable but don't think you can get 37's to fit without cutting the front fenders, bumper. The ride is better the stock with much better response to the small bumps, rear is also softer. The tiress sing a little but not as bad as BFG Mudders.
The folks at 4 Wheel Parts were impressed with the quality and fit and I agree. Pro Comp does list a skid plate with the installation literature but I need to confirm availability.
Maximum wheel size is 9" wide, 4.5" to 5" backspacing, max tire size is 35" x 13.50".
Very happy with the looks, ride and handling.
Will post pics shortly...
I have the 6" procomp with 35" Xterrains and 17" american eagle alloys. I love the lift. Great ride, great price. I did alot of research I heard from alot of people that really had nothing bad to say about pro comp, fabtech, or rancho, and now the skyjacker seems pretty good too. I decided on pro comp because of price and have not regretted it at all. Pics are in my gallery.
I finally got my truck finished! Check out the gallery!
I got a great deal from a company in New Mexico....sportztrailers.com
I got the 6" FABTECH lift for $1495 free shipping and no tax!
I also got the 35/12.5-17 Pro-Comp XTs for $840 free shipping and no tax!
I purchased the wheels at rons rims, available online and ebay, for $575
All in all I think I got a pretty good deal...I had a local suspension shop install the lift for $400, including alignment!
Let me know what you guys/gals think
