My truck does this on slight throttle application in OD around 40 -50 mph with light load like going up a slight hill. For the longest time I thought it was the transmision. I actually brought it to the stealership who charged me $90 and told me they did notice the problem, thank you very much.
I finally decided to take it to a transmission shop after calling around and finding one who sounded like they knew what they were talking about. We went for a test drive and his diagnosis was that is was more likely an ignition problem.
So before spending hundreds on spark plugs and coils. I finally got myself a scanner capable of live data. Now I am getting a bunch of codes related to throttle position and emissions controls.
Here are the codes, I would love to hear theories;
P0443 Evap purge control valve
P0505 Idle air control
P0123 TPS switch circuit high
P0118 Engine coolant temp high
P0113 Intake air temp sensor high
P1249 APSOL Solenoid control (Air polution valve)
I'm thinking its the TPS that would explain why it only happens with slight throttle application.
Suspecting there is something wrong with the TPS I drove around with my scanner watching the live data feed of the absolute TP graph. I see a blip from roughly 30% throttle to about 85% coinciding with my little hesitation.
The codes don't seem to be coming back though and I don't understand all of them.
