I've got a problem with rust growing on my chrome Warn front bumper and need to get rid of it. (The rust that is) The biggest spots are about the size of a quarter or 50 cent piece. I've tried sanding the spots and just touching it up with some chrome colored spray paint but that didn't work. The rust is back and it's forming under the chrome, making it bubble up. Anybody got a solution to fix this back to chrome, other than dipping it?
I dealt with this on my own 79 front bumper, there is no easy fix that will get it to look like chrome again. Once they start rusting and peeling, its all but over. I ended up taking mine and getting the dents removed, straightened and rechromed . It looks original now, but I am 200 bucks lighter in the bank, good luck

Speaking of rechroming...my 98 Expy factory wheels are looking a "little rough". What would be a fair price (each) to have them chromed? They're 17" wheels that were common on the EB Expy's and 97/98 F150's with off-road package. They look like someone used harsh acidic wheel cleaner on them - the clear-coat is dull and discolored in places.

Thanks!

Sorry , Scott I dont have a clue to what it would cost, but I have seen wheels in that condition, I had some. . Make some calls to some plating shops would be the best way that I know. My best guess would be by the time they dip'em,strip'em, and re-plate them, you could probaly buy new ones for the same money. good luck
Thanks Greg! I'm sure you're probably right. I'll check it out. I like the look of the stock wheel, but there are some sharp Centerline and other wheels out there are reasonable prices. I may just go that route.
