73 5.0 Conversion
New kid on the block here, I've just picked up a 73 with a late model 5.0 EFI/HO. Well the hard work has been done I've got to get my head wrapped around this rig. Starting off I don't have one gauge that works. Is this due to the 5.0 computer cluster (wiring) or what? Next Equal Lenth Shorty Headers (ELS)or BBK ELS Headers do they measure up the same??
Rick
Thanks, I don't have any guages fuel, oil pressure, temp, or speed-O. I was looking at the new digital guages but its not a FIX its a replacement. Plus I think a full cluster replacement would be nice I would rather have something nice but not so technical or $$.
So none of my guages are working.

If none of the gauges are working, the first thing I would check would be for power to them and the gauge voltage regulator mounted on the back of the gauge cluster. This powers the fuel, oil press, and water temp gauges. The amp gauge works from a large wire going through a loop on the back of it. I can go into a little more detail on how to diagnose them if you want. The speedometer is simply ran off of a cable. The previous owner may have removed the gauges and simply not hooked anything back up.

The wiring is a mess. Going from the Computer to the dask cluster once was a stereo so some cut in looking for power I guess? I want to clean it up and make sure I dont have a fire.
Thanks

Thanks I'll be getting it back from the tranny shop this week and hope to get into the wiring. Centech? Are they online? I'll google it but if you have more info please forward it.
By the way do you know anyone who would be interrested in 302 parts (Block, heads, entire engine was rebuilt never put together HOTROD stuff) or Bronco Parts?

The Centech harness is a nice setup. Pretty straightforward to install. And there are a lot of options for add on circuits.
Another company is Painless wiring. They came out with a Bronco specific harness a couple of years ago, similar to the Centech. I haven't had any experience with it, but I've heard that it is comparable to Centech's.
