I've been negligent here, so Mr. T told me I better post. I do have a question, simple as it may be. The driver side mirror on my 98 Ranger is worthless when at highway speeds. The only thing I can see in it is whether it's day or night. Any help on tightening it would be greatly appreciated.
Also as a side note, what is the coolant capacity for the 3.0 v-6 engine?

Is the whole assembly shaking, or just the mirror itself? Power or manual?
There are three bolts that hold the assembly to the door. The bolts are actually a part of the asembly, and nuts are used on the other side to secure it to the door. To access the nuts, you need to pull off the interior door panel and peel back the dust cover which covers the access hole. You might have to take out the speaker to get at the harness connector for the mirror, if it is power.
I have the same problem with the driver's side mirror on my 97 Ranger. I tried popping the bottom cover off the underside of the mirror, but I hadn't thought of taking the door panel off and trying to tighten it from the inside. Do you think that would help??? The passenger side mirror doesn't do it, only the driver's side.
Well, RL, I figured I would have to remove the inside of the door. dwildmanj, I didn't know if there was a bottom cover on the mirror. I had a Vanagon once that had terrible mirrors and the only fix was to replace them. I figured Ford was a little more on the ball. I'll pull the door cover off this weekend and get 'er taken care of. Thanks guys.
