First accident

I had my first fender bender today, I was just wondering if anyone here has any idea how much my insurance might go up. I'm 23 and had no points till today now I'm going to have two against me. Oh by the way my old rusting aerostar got a clean spot made on it and the 2002 dodge rams rear quater panel is crumpled, shows the quality of the dodge truck.

Sorry to hear about the "rubbing" with the Dodge. Hope things work out ok.

it's hard to say how much it will go up, but rest assured it will & you won't like it. keep us posted on that, 'cause i'd like to know how much my wife 2001 ram with the smashed door will END up costing ME.

Well in a span of about a year and a half I got 4 tickets. Two were dropped, but I totalled 6 points. My insurance never went up. They usually give you the first ticket. Now having a wreck is a different story.

Depends on your Ins co. Mine went up 20% from an accident. I know others who went up 50% or better.

Ouch, that really sucks, I just found out that the ticket is 95.00 which hurts but is doable, the ins, going up is what is really going to hurt.

Insurance companies have changed their minds.

To add to their income, they now include; any collision where you were the victim.

They now call them incident's.
2 incident's of any kind.

1) Me, I was hit on May 25th 2003 by a kid making a left hand turn at the intersection 200 ft in front of me.
90% of the car was on private property in a driveway. He hit me in the last 8" of the car.

2) I replaced a windshield after suffering 5 stone chips in which the 5th one caused a crack right in my viewing area.

These two Incident's are considered Claim's against an Insurance company,It doesn't matter that the other person's insurance company paid the bill.

I lost 3 points from my 9 star rating which is the lowest costing insurance there is.

The insurance writer's (agents) know it isn't fair and all they can say is:
"What can you do?"................. they make the rules to fit them

I just found out my sway bar linkage has rusted apart and is rubbing and binding on the tie rods, I don't think the accident caused it to break but think that it was broken shortly before the accident. Any thoughts on if I should fit the ticket based on this and try to get it reduced to a fine with no points or nothing at all?
