I did and my truck does not vibrate. Believe me when I read about the post about vibration, I checked at different speeds and over bumps. I had other people in the driver seat check it out and they think I am nuts. They kept on saying no it does not vibrate (over and over), no it does not shimmy (over and over), no to me "get a life" (over and over). If it vibrates it is invisible and I can not feel it. In conclusion, and to my friends, it does not vibrate. Therefore I am majority of 2004 truck owners that do not see this problem.
I'm not buying it. I've looked at 50 or more of these, had friends in different states try the tailgate drop trick and every one..bar none has done it. Why would one truck be different? Ford built these all the same...same isolators, same bushings, same everything. I'd bet a paycheck that your truck bed will shimmy just like all the rest on the tailgate drop test.
Either way, it's not a big deal. Mine does it...and it doesn't bother me. I really like this truck.
My bed, tailgate bounces up and down 1/8 to 1/4 inch on our paved gravel road, you can see it in the mirror. I also have a vibration ,47 to 52 mph when your on the gas.when you let off the gas it stops vibrating.. I have General 17"tires.. It's going in the shop to be checked in the morning...
I must have the only truck that does not vibrate, its got to worth a whole lot of money Ford must of built my truck with special non vibrating isolators and anti-shimmy bushings.
We need to get the engineers over here to examine my truck, they must of let this one out of the automotive plant. They would hate to see that.
Ford needs to do a recall on the trucks that do not vibrate or shimmy......because Ford wanted to sell the shimmy/vibrating trucks to public.
I would like all to let the non-shimmy/vibrating truck owners to keep there mouths shut, so Ford doesn't get our trucks...

both of my parents 04's don't vibrate too much. remember that the bed is not attached to the bed so when the chasis flexes the bed will move independently of the cab. the outboard shocks help this problem though. i know that chevy/dodge/toyota vibrate like a son of a gun
Option 2 - Park the truck in your driveway and just polish it instead of driving it
Option 3 - Adjust the mirrors so you don't see the bed anymore, turn up the radio, step down on the gas pedal, and have some fun driving! That bed ain't goin' nowhere that the rest of the truck ain't goin' too!
I think I started all this hype on the bed vibration, took my truck back to dealer
they installed bed vibration damper on the frame guess what (NO VIBRATION)
Sorry I caused so much trouble. I'd still love my truck with the vibration.
Thanks for all input.

Now saying ALL of them vibrate is just ludicrous... mine doesn't vibrate either.
Just joking around. I think it's hilarious that people are arguing over something so trivial. My bed vibration was very slight. In fact, I had to look really close to notice it. At first I thought my side view mirror was vibrating ever so slightly. I had a factory bed liner installed today. Guess what? I have no vibration now. It must be acting as a vibration damper...
After owning my truck for 6 months,i got rearended on the highway by a big rig, surprisingly the truck held up pretty good, just a new bumper, tailgate and new bed side.but after returning the truck to the dealership a couple of times for overlooked/bad repairs,i now notice while driving down the freeway my bed literally teeter totters back and forth over bumps.now i dont have or notice the vibration issues many have here, but the bed shake is a little too extreme.I checked the bed for tightness seems ok and cant lift it or move it manually.I dont know if ive always had the problem or if its a new one,as ive been scrutinizing everything.I just want my new truck back,i used to love it.any help or suggestions would be appreciated, thanks
thanks for the info, now if i can just get the body shop to fix my truck right.this will be the third time bringing it back, doesnt anyone take pride in there work anymore?
