My truck normally runs at 400 degrees at 65mph and the other day i was towing a trailer about 2000lbs total weight (trailer and equipment on it) and the truck was running at 800 degrees at 65mph. This didn't seem right since some guys tow way way more then 2000lbs and don't have problems. I was just wondering if this is normal or what the problem could be? The pyro is preturbo in the manifold, truck is a 96 4x4 with intake and thats it. Boost was at about 7lbs and trans was at 150 degrees. Thanks for the help
For pre-turbo, that seems kinda low, I have a '99, I don't think a '96 is that much different. Cruising down the road around 65mph it'll run right around 600* average, haven't towed anything yet since I've put my guages in. Everything else sounds normal. Might want to check and make sure you're getting a good reading with the thermocoupler in the manifold. Otherwise I would say that isn't bad at all.

that sounds about right for my truck. it will run about 450* around town, and when i tow my atv trailer with one atv and some gear it will run around 800-850*(but that is in the moutains)

That sounds a little low to me my 96 runs about 600 to 650 at 65+mph empty and about 900 to 1000 at 65 with my 33 ft fiver in tow. Of course up hill is a different story. I do note that you don't run a chip or programmer so that may have somthing to do with it.
For you guys with the 97+ models dont forget we dont have an intercooler.
