Gday guys. I'm about to take a trip to the wreckers to pick up an intake manifold to start cutting up to fit my eaton m112 supercharger to my 351 4v clevo.
so the question is, can i fit a 2v intake on an engine with 4v heads? and I've never really understood the differance between the two sets of heads. does 2v mean 2 valves per cylinder and 4v mean 4 valves?
any information is appreciated.
You're probably more used to hearing the term barrels. Four valve cleveland heads came stock with a four barrel carb or "four valve carb". Two valve heads came with a two barrel. Ford simply put high flowing heads on to match the high flowing carb. You're gonna need a 4 valve intake to match you're heads, besides all you could bolt on a 2 valve intake would be a 2 barrel and that would just not be very much fun.

I dont want to mount a carbie on it, I'm using the 2v ior 4v intake manifold as a base to fabricate a supercharger mount.
I'll probably cut an inch or so off the top of it and weld half inch of plate steel as a base mounting plate for the blower.
Hopefully the following diagram will make sense;
on 4v head/intake you could drop a gulfball threw it the 2v intake has way to small of ports you would be defeting all that hard work by only useing half the port in the head if you was goin threw the work to modifie a intake why not just build one from scratch that way you could make shure you had the ports rite
