Explorere Stalls on start up

Ok in the morning or when the motor is cold and my wife starts it it stalls like its out of Fuel crank it again and as long as you dont let off the gas it runs but let off the gas and it stalls .Once it warms up its fine but for about 5 minutes it wont idle

Is it a fuel filter Or wha t ?

It could be the IAC. Check the sticky at the top of the forum for more info.

Even if you had a voltage meter, it is probably best if you replace the IAC valve. It is usually a $50 part on an Explorer. It will save you in the end. Suppose you test it, and tests show it's OK. You clean it and put it back on. It runs great for a while and then all of a sudden it konks out on your wife when she least expects it. Save yourself a headache, get a new one, put it on in 5 minutes and be done with it for 100,000 miles or more (that's how long my first IAC valve lasted).
