2000 Ford Explorer

Ok I have 2000 explorer 4x4 its the Wifes now the 4wd switch says Auto Hi Low now when its in Auto and looses traction 4wd kicks in automatically so my question is Is it considered All wheel drive or what???????

Oh ya where is the Fuel filter on this thing ???I havent looked yet but help as where to look would be great

Not sure about the 4x4, but the fuel filter is, roughly, under the driver's seat, just inboard of the frame rail. That is, assuming it's the same as the '99. You'll need a fuel line disconnect tool to get the fuel filter off. I think it was the 5/8 & is less than $10 at Pepboys.

I have a 2001 4X4. When you are in 2wd it say "Auto" on the switch. It will kick into 4wd when the real wheels spin. This is not AWD though. AWD transfers power to all wheels, all the time.
