Mike W you played Duke Nukem 3D??? That's awesome! I loved that game! I even got my mom and dad into it. I was really upset that it didn't work in Windows XP. I still have the URGE to play it sometimes.
We had a network in my house and would play 4 people (my parents and 3 brothers) all the time. I would also "DIAL-UP" with my friend all the time as well. Many HOURS "wasted" playing that game.
Supposedly Duke Nukem FOREVER is going to be out "When it's done". Still waiting..............FOREVER!
Many years ago, I had a game called Duke Nukem, that ran happily on an ancient non windows machine... (an XT runnning Dos 3.14) I wonder if it was the original of the one you are writing about.
The new Doom sounds like it kicks some ***. My laptop can't even touch the requirements though. A /VERY/ good substitute as a first person shooter is Unreal Tournament, any version.
Don't feel bad, Mattsbox99. I still occasionally load up a Madcat/Timberwolf and go tromping through worlds.
I got finished with Doom 3 a couple of weeks ago. It was the best video game that I had ever played. The only problem is that I did not have a graphics card that was nearly good enough. I had to play the game on a downsized screen, with the graphic settings on low, and it still did not run very well. It needs a GEForce 5900 card, and I do not think that mine is even a 5200.
I have Duke Nuken Time to Kill for my playstation 1. I like play the 2-player deathmatch mode.
yeah, duke neukem rocks, i used to play it on the playstation, and doom, heck yes, i'd spend hours killin' mutated aliens, and monsters from hell, lol.
unreal tournament is pretty good too, can't wait to get an nvidia card so i can play it, same with doom 3.
