Hi All ,
Went for my first oil change at the ford dealer , seem's they put a used oil dip stick back in the engine ?? If someone with a 04 5.4 can measure from top to tip and post for me would help me to go back and bitch about it.

Mine is 27 3/8 from the tip of the stick to the center of the o-ring. There is what looks like a part number just above the full mark. It is 3L3E-6750-DA. Hope this helps.
Speaking of Dip Sticks.... Has anyone noticed we have two piece dip sticks?? What up with that?? Rivots?? They couldn't find enough steel that long to make them one piece.. Probably tripled the cost to make them...
Hi 79Rex ,
Ok was wrong size , only got 27" and also i do remember from Dunk's post reply that there was rivits on the stick when it was new ?? Means i have to much oil in the engine because it reads full , cute on there part i never did nothing to them { THE DEALER } . Will go back with the specks that 79Rek gave me and let them do it over with me standing there this time .
Thanks Men !

The company probably uses the same top piece for both the 5.4 and 4.6 l engines but have different length bottom pieces for each engine. A lot cheeper than making 2 separate dip sticks.
