There is an oil leak coming from either the riveted square metal to the oil pan or where the dip stick enters the oil pan.
The PO had a wad of silicone around the dip stick base and took forever to get it clean, there is still a tiny residual amount at the base of the dip stick that's hard to get. I cleaned the whole area and waited a few hours for it to leak and it didn't. IMO, it doesn't appear to be leaking around the square riveted plate but at the base of the dip stick.
Does the dip stick just pull out or unscrew out. Right now it's being held by a bracket mounted to the exhaust manifold.
If I get the dip stick out, how best to put it back in and seal it?
