ok a couple of months back i gave my old bronco 2 (84) to a friend cause he needed a car ...he couldn't keep it at his house cause of the failed insepction sticker , landlord was threatening to have it towed, it had previously had a short in the system somewhere that i couldn't find so i put a kill switch on the battery, well somehow the battery when completely dead. we pushed it to a vacant parking lot so it wouldn't get towed, i went and bought a new battery , went a couple of days later and pulled off the turnsignal relay switch and stalk because they were broke and i was getting new ones , i went to put the battery in and there is no power going to the dome light, the ignition column or anything interior on the car...i haven't checked to see if head lights come on yet, usually when you turn the key one click you get the seat belt buzzer ...nothing ,you can't start it at all, however if i hold a wrench to the two bolts on the solenoid and try and short it out it will try and start ...engine will crank ..(doesn't start cause i believe gas tank is empty) my friend told me it is most likely the starter and the dome lights etc are fuses that are blown is this true ...is there anything else it could be please help
thanks in advance
kris

Read the previous post on mystery short. Sounds like you have a bad ignition switch, if not that a bad ignition wire to the solenoid. You also may have a short some wheres else. Hope this helps.
