Hi guys, last year I had installed a TCS controller from Baumann Co. on my F150 1986, I notice some problems on internal TCS program so I write to Baumman looking for After Sale Support, until now they didn't answer me...
So I want contact some other guys using same controller, is there someone???
try on nloc.net in the gen 1 section there are a few guys there that could probably help. also, isn't there a forum on baumanns website? maybe I am wrong.
I used to run one. but I never adjusted it.
Jody
1º Converter clutch is can be activated at very low RPM's, it can fade most V8 engines, specially in 4º gear.
2º Converter is relased if TPS voltage is bigguer than a programed value, no matter truck's speed, it means you can't press pedal to bottom and keep converter looked, if you are climbing or towing it can cause tranny overheating. Also at highway speeds (Over 75mph) it is better keep coverter locked to get the truck's maximun speed (About 100 mph)
3º The strategy used by Baumann to shift does include relase converter at any up/down shift, this is nice, but the problem is in upshifts there is a delay betwen relase converter and apply next gear witch some times can be not pleasent for passangers or for diary driven as mine.
By the way, If you emailme home, I can give you fast responce than this place. Nloc.net WEB page is dissable...
If you ask me, I give to TCS 85% of satisfaction, but with a minor program changes it can obtain a big performance improvement. Today I'm a diary user of this controller on my F150, 1986, 300CID
