$500 Bronco II
I'm looking at a $500 1985 Bronco II 2.8l V6 5 speed 4X4. The truck runs, but "fouls a plug once in a while." There is minimal rust in the usual Bronco places (front fenders and driver's door) and the interior is pretty good. What should I keep my eye on for this model year? Any typical problems? Advice on repairing cost vs. replacement of engine? It worth fixing? Thanks.

$500 Bronco II
I just bought one for $250 and have about $600 into the engine overhaul alone. These 2.8L's weren't the best engine out there. Parts are expensive and they don't have much power. They only used them a few years, so parts are a little hard to find. Just getting mine running right, I've invested about $1200 or so. I think I'm going to sell it after the winter and buy a Jeep. Unless you like working on these things, I'd stay away. In my case, the cheap initial purchase ended up being a bad deal.
