Exclamation no cat!?

i have a 91 f150 5.0 4x4, and im wondering if i took of the cat, which i do not need for emissions, and ran straight pipe to a flow master muffler, would it cause any trouble? im looking to get a bit more power, and some sound from it. any thoughts? thanks
