After 6 hrs, it appeared to have went well. On the way back from NC getting my new turbo from Matt, it was brought to our attention(the girlfriend was with me on that trip) that someting was leaking. Turned out to be the old return line that I had forgot to crimp up and get rid of, so I had to fix that. Other then that it went alright, but I had lost quite a bit of fuel and it ended up costing me money(thankfully it was at the cheaper rate), but all is well now.
great to hear first time I did some wrenching I didn't put on the lock washers, a week later, a number of bolts were missing and the exhaust gasket had blown... you live and you learn.
looked at you sig...and damn, looks like the only thing your missing is a meth kit
picked up a turbo you say, what happend with the old one?
what makes the fcic tune diffrent formt hte others?

Well the first one crapped out on me when Bean had finished putting in the fluidampner, headstuds, stage 1s, and the RR kit. Luckily he had Matt's 03 turbo laying around with the matching pedestal so we managed to swap that out. As to getting the 64mm fixed turbo, I needed to match the air flow with my new injectors and plus I liked the idea of having the whistle more at higher speeds then at the slower ones as I spend more time at the higher speeds then not(even more so now, can't imagine why).

More control over the injectors and plus with control of the FICM it really doesn't matter what strategy you get from a factory reflash. Wickedly awesome(atleast I think so).
Without doubt... the long-block design is similar... admittedly made out of different materials BUT I think this thread was started with the intentions (my understanding anyway) of what would be quicker if you threw an open checkbook at the two engines.
^THAT 5.4 ran a 6.5s 1/4 mile... Aeromotive 2007 Cobra Pro 5.0 Mustang
I genuinely doubt a 6.0l could come close to that.
Especially not one that even remotely resembles the one sitting under the hood of your truck
If I recall correctly it hit 224mph or so... I am not sure on its accel times,
But given that its top speed isn't much higher that what THAT 5.4 hits at the end of the 1/4...
As for it being similar to your expy - I am fully aware that it isn't...
I haven't said diesels aren't good, my 2 current vehicles are a diesel Focus and a diesel Ranger, or even aren't quick. (Thanks to an SCT BlueFin and propane vapour injection the aforementioned Focus will spontaneously ignite its front tyres at throttle tip in, in 3rd gear)
Diesels no doubt have the capability for serious hp in the long-term however the engineering to support it isn't there currently like it is for a gasser.
And I think it will still take some time to get close to what modern direct injection gassers with forced induction are capable of.

You're back to talking trucks again, right? I thought the Audi R8 TDI was pretty advanced myself for a diesel...
I think I'll see if I can find the HP/TQ numbers for the Bonneville 6.0 truck...
