the other topic of Turbo vs Catback, gave me some good info, thankx! What I wanted to do was take either one I choose and figure out whether or not to run duals "y" out the back. Its hard finding a shop around here to bend 4" pipe and bending around the spare tire. I'd really like to have the dual system, whether or not it'll decrease EGT's who knows, I plan on running the hottest setup the EGT will handle and I have a GVW with trailer about 24k and a heavy right foot, equipped with a Jammer in the windshield. Thanks again...
Dual systems may be purchased... no need to fabricate....
but I have heard some dual exhausts users say they wish they had done single after it was all said and done....
to each his own, but a single 4 inch out behind the right tire allows you to dump ALL the smoke on the offending party in the next lane when you HAVE to

I would be interested in hearing from those that have installed dual exhaust systems that wish they would have done a single system. I was about to call Motorhaven and place an order for the MBRP dual system until I read this message. I don't want to regret my decision if others have bad experiances with duals.
thanks JD... after I posted, I went and checked out Motorhaven, and they do have dual systems.. can't figure out what is the difference in XP and Pro series?? I know what you mean about the right side exhaust exit.. I still have my 00 and it smokes like a freight train with the "old style" diablo racing chip, ie non 4bank.
I like the look of the dualls out the back under the fenders, and have visions of up the middle, smoking out the fast lane and slow lane, here in GA.. hahaha I've heard you don't get as much air flow with duals as with a single 4"... i'm going for sound/appearance, ie, I'd be straight from turbo back....Jet Engine take off.
KR,
can't recall where I saw that, but do recall it... not many but a few...
it may have just been personal preference or it may have been the flow issue 1BD mentioned...
1BD,
give motorhaven a call - GREAT people and they may have an unadvertised special to entice you to get the exhaust and the programmer and the ......
Wouldn't a dual system cost you more and not do that much more for you? That is the conclusion I came to on my Bronco back when. You could go just a better muffler on your 6.0 and get better performance and temps and not spend much money.
I haven't , but want one anyway! I've heard a complete straight pipe factory outlet, but its an early 6.0L, it sounds like a jet, I'm hoping its a little deeper so we'll see, I haven't actually gotten my 6.0 yet....its still "scheduled" .. I have heard the 7.3 y'd out the back and it was sweet as well. Oh, the mouth waters......... anticipation grows, the bolt on's, plug ins and such that will make the next addition to the driveway an extension of my name and worthy of my handle, and the License tag... came from the current '00...) 1BDTRK.!!!!!!
I've got a custom BORLA with duals out the back. Cat delete pipe made all the difference in tone though. Don't think you can buy it. They needed a vehicle to prototype their first 6.0. I was more than happy to help, but I explained I did not like their 4" single dump. So they bent me up a custom setup.

Hi guys!
I am a new member and enjoy reading the postings here. I have an '04 F-250 SD King Ranch FX4 Crew with the 6.0L PSD. I have installed the Edge's "Juice" and "Attitude" and I have also installed a 4" Turbo-back exhaust system. It is my guesstimate that I am producing about 450 BHp to the tranny, but I have not dyno'd what the power at the wheels is yet. The sound out of the truck is hardly impressive, but the aircraft carrier-like launch under the highest setting is incredible (you should see the stunned faces of the sports cars that I pass when I do that). Needless to say, doing those kind of launches all the time is not adviseable due to the incredible stress placed on the truck.
Anyway, I have been having issues with surging of the turbo at cruise speeds and sputtering at acceleration from a stop to 1200 rpm. The check engine dummy light comes on, the symptoms go away for a while & the whole things starts all over again. I have taken it into my dealer 6 times (it's there right now). I have joking called this little ghost I have in the truck as, "Christine". I installed the "Attitude" and all related components in an attempt to in effect reprogram the computer and allow me to monitor the EGTs (Exhaust Gas Temps). I noticed that the installation of the new exhaust lowered them by about 50 degrees overall, but the money I have spent thus far has not taken away the surging. I am in talks with Ford Corporate and the possibility of envoking the Lemon Law, but I want to give them absolutely every opportunity to fix what I STILL believe is the greatest truck money can buy.
Anybody else have this problem, too??
FYI - I have been dealing with Downtown Ford in Sacramento and they have been absolutely AWESOME! They are doing everything they can to give Christine a permanent vacation...
