The truck that I recently purchased came with a CD Changer but the CD magazine was missing. My wife has tried on two seperate occasions to find a replacement. The first one didn't fit at all and now the second one will actaully load the CD but the head unit says "no cd." On a prior post a member said he cleaned the changer with a disc cleaner and it worked for a little while and then starting doing the same thing over again (no cd). Has anyone else experienced the same problem? How did you fix it? Another question is, has anyone replaced their changer and if you have did it plug directly into the factory plug? If it did fit directly into the factory plug/line what CD changer did you purchase? I've read a few posts about problems with CD Changers and missing magazine however, I don't see where anyone actually solved anything.
I don't have the information on the latest magazine that my wife purchased since I'm stuck in England for another month and she's at home in Virginia. Here is the information from the changer:
Clarion
F77F 18C830 AB
DATE CODE 0897
SERIAL # 1057272
SOFTWARE REV LEVEL 13
PU 2088A
14M 0110-00
Not sure if it will help but alot of times there is a troubleshooting guide or a support number you can call in the manuals. Here is a link to Clarion's manuals. You will need to model number from the unit though. good luck.
Has anyone purchased a USA SPEC's SCD-F100 CD Changer? If so did it fit in the factory setting inside the center console and plug directly into the factory wires (the ones inside the console).
