FTE Chapters Nationals Event
Well, it looks like somewhere near a thousand mile drive one way, measured as the proverbial crow flies and tossing in a couple slight curves here and there. I'd have to look and see what kind of Interstate runs that way, to make the trip a tad easier. I'll have to do some serious planning and preparations...new tires, etc....but we'll see. I take it you are looking at next summer some time?
I think this is a GREAT idea!!!! I mentioned something like this a bit ago & would love to see it happen so I can meet a TON of FTE-er's!!!!!
I'll post it & see what the NY Chapter thinks. Hopefully there will be a bunch who will attend. It sounds like a lot of fun!
Now - in the event it's too far for 1 central meeting place what about an East/West meet? I realize we'd only meet 1/2 as many members but for the poeple on the West coast they may not be up for such a long drive. It's just a thought.

Sorry, that means twice as much money for FTE to shell out in event insurance, travel, lodging and all the costs associated with the event itself. Plus twice as much time planning and preparing.
"When" would be a factor for me, but I'd do everything I possibly could to attend. I'd might have to fly, so St. Louis/ Kansas City would be ideal as far as airfares go, but I'd attend almost anywhere as long as the cost was reasonable. Wait a minute: I COULD WRITE IT OFF AS A BUSINESS EXPENSE! Have it wherever the heck you want! I'll be there! We're talking a 1 or 2-day event, right? Ken: you have to let Ford know about this; I'm sure they could provide some "assistance," not to mention some interesting trucks to look at......
You know, some of us have talked about this for a couple years, and I think it's a hell of an idea. Definitely would be a lot of fun, meeting everyone. When you want to hold this event at a certain Ford dealership in Victor, NY, please let me know. I know a lady there that would LOVE to host an event like this!!
Can this also be posted in the GC or GAC forums? A lot more members will see it there, I would think.

Sweet. I'm excited. A months notice and I can get about anything I want off from my employer. I think Kansas, Missouri sounds very fair.
Witchita or Topeka Kansas? Tulsa, Ok?
A big city like Kansas City I dont imagine would be of benefit.

But since I live near Tulsa, I would rather see it take place somewhere closer to Kansas or Oklahoma!!
I know I'll make every effort to be there!

I may be a little biased here but Kansas is a good spot and centrally located. Topeka has Heartland Park which would be a good spot for a national event. Topeka is also easy to get to from just about anywhere. You have Interstate 70 and 335 going right to it. Only about an hour from KCI and plenty of motel rooms. It might be nice to beable to put the trucks on the track with some real timing. Kansas City is also well located and with the Ford Truck assembly plant there it to would also be an ideal location as well as the possibility of Ford taking part. Wichita also has it advantages as it is centrally located and there are all kinds of truck and cars shows being put on there.
i think sponsors are the key to making the event a hit. if any of you are in contact regularly with our sponsors, mention to them what a great way it would be to get their products in front of a large audience.
i have some close friends who have a pretty successful and very good classic rock band called "one way street" and i'll offer up their services for some entertainment. we could make this a "fordapalooza"!

Springfield is a great town and could be lots of fun. They do put on some good shows and have the people to do it. Branson on the other hand has it's drawbacks I think. Though it is a great town and lots of things to attract people to it, during certain times of the year Branson is always packed and traffic can be a nightmare. Just my opinion but Branson is almost to compact of an area to really enjoy during the hight of the season.
