Ok, what did I miss? When I bought my truck 4 months ago, diesel was selling for $1.65 about 20 cents cheaper than regular gas. Now, it's selling for $1.99, 3 cents more than premium gasoline!
Write your elected representatives and tell them what a negative impact of having spiraling fuel prices is having on the economy.
It sho nuff has an impact on MY economy. Diesel is $ 0.06/gal higher than 89 octane even @ my the WalmartI buy at.
Only $ 0.02/gal less than 93 octane.
Paid $ 1.93/gal Sunday
Can't describe the heat that Da' Momma is putting on me for my fuel costing more than her gas.
I don't have a problem with supply and demand as long as it is not a manipulated supply issue. If you know what I mean?
I was in the concrete business in DFW in the mid-late '80's when there was a sudden cement shortage. Drove the price of concrete to record highs. Double in less than 4 months as I recall. Then the construction bust hit Texas.
KW - according to my builder concrete is back up there...
got any contacts where I can get my circle drive like I want and can't stand to pay my mafia builders prices ?
JD...I heard that 5 sack concrete here is going for arounf $ 70.00/yard or higher
Been out of the business for years but I still know people that know people...If you know what I mean? In fact kinda having an off-site meeting with some this P.M. If you know what I mean?
Will see what I can find out and will P.M. you with more info in a couple of days.
I'm not sure of the validity of this, but heard froma friend that the spike in #2 priceing was affected by the european purchase of home heating oil.......they are all supposeed to have large underground tanks, and only fill every 2 or so years........can anyone confirm this or shoot it down.......I do not know myself....the person who told me is someone who would not fib.
I filled up last night for $0.199/ gallon, the total was $3.58 for 18 gallons!
I went in and told the clerk that his price was wrong, he stated there was nothing he could do since the his boss sets the prices. He said the transaction was good, so I left. I told him he better call his boss before the tank is empty.
That is going to be one very unhappy boss in the morning.....and a big check to write for the loss....shame you didn't have a couple of 55 gallon drums...but that would not have been nice
I am starting to crunch the numbers, to decide if my next new truck should be gas or diesel, with the recent increase in price it appears the gas burner will be the way to go for me,there is only 3 mpg difference in my 2004 6.0 and my 2002 5.4 pulling the same load. the 5.4 doesnt get up to speed as fast but it gets there and there is now a 20 cent difference in price, when you add that to the 5 k for the psd there is no way it makes CENTS, what does anyone else think.

I think you shouldn't base the decision on what the prices are on a single day or week of the year. Every summer the prices swing the other way. Either average out the prices for the year, or weight them based on which part of the year you do more driving in, and then decide.
(But you are also missing a lot of other data, like longevity of engine, resale value of truck, maintenance costs, etc.)
