There is a TSB from Ford, in the Recalls/TSB link, on making and installing a screen for the cowling to keep out debris.

I have exactly the same problem with continuous leak through a rusted hole in my fire wall on the passenger side of my B2. I have sealled it with under body coat and have taken the dash apart to get to the rust, only to discover that the whole was about 4 inches long. I was going to be too much work to remove the entire dash to rebuild a weld in a patch. So i put some brushable seem sealer in the whole with along wooden dowel. This just slowed it down. Bu it was good for a while. Also i took off the fenders and removed the rodent proofing that restricted the water from draining quicker. now if i park my B2 so that if it leans to the drivers side the water will drain out aslong as it is not a down pour.

In addition the water leak had started to affect the cars performance.. ie the computer i getting wet.. the carpet and padding hold water against the computer and the wiring connector... This was not good i had sudden loss of power and the car would run extremely rich it would even back fire in the cat.

My advice is to really consider fixing a leak above the computer if you love you b2 lord knows that this project aleast for me will have to wait.. Right now i just drive around with the carpet folded back.

Quick fix is to take out the plugs under the carpet so water can drain out. I've taken plugs out of both my B2s and now I only get occassional damp carpet. Better to let the water drain than collect on the floor.

Also, a lot of leaks on B2s are caused by the doors, not the firewall. If the rubber on the doors is not fitting good, water will come inside and appear like water from the firewall.

My 87 BII also had the wet floor on the passenger side & dripping on the EEC module. The cowl area was choked with pine needles, maple whirlies, and other dirt that allowed moisture to rust the seams. I pulled the antenna, made an adapter for the shopvac out of a piece of 1/2" plastic tubing and cleaned all the debris out of that end of the cowl. Also pulled the two access panels and cleared out gobs from the other end too. To easily seal the leaks on the passenger side I got some of that rubberized tool handle dip and squirted it through the antenna hole with a big syringe I got (for free) at a pet store. It's hard to see in there, but by moving it around it's possible to hit all the gaps. Two syringes later and bouncing the BII up & down to slosh the liquid rubber around before it set up it seems all the leaks were filled, so hopefully this should fix the problem. Put a sheet of newspaper underneath your vehicle since some of it will leak out while it flows into the gaps before it sets up. Hope this helps.

I have the same leak as BOSS 358. looks like it is coming from the same area and the bottom of the ECU panel next to the e-brake.

Eventually, my husband will get to it, I guess. If we ever figure it out, I'll let you know. Angel
I used to have that problem too. I decided it was because the heat from the exhaust would cause condensation on the bottom of the floormat (especially if it's rubber/plastic). If possible, take your floor mat out and run it for a few days and see if it dries out.

here is a pic of where my leak is. Water runs down the edge of the panel where the arrow is pointing. I gotto take out the ECU to get a better look to see where the origin of the leak is.

I pulled the truks puter and hosed the cowl & windshield and the leak starts at the red circle. Above that it is dry. Will pull panel off and reseal then see what happens.

It turns out that was the leak, the factory gasket was not sealing well due to its age. i resealed it with windshield sealer. no leaks.
