I suspect my Tach/Engine RPM sensor is going. In the morning, when the truck is cold, the tachometer reads 200 rpm when fast idling. Then when the truck warms up, the tack indicates correctly.
I would like to test the sensor with my ohm meter. Does anyone know what the resistance should be? Or can anyone giv eme ideas.
tach sensor is located at the top right beside your oil fill. They are not very expensive, id just try one. If it is an e40d, you will also feel harder shifting.
It is a standard tranny, i know where the sensor is i just want to test it. Ford wants 90 dollars for the damn part. Would like to test it first if anyone know the resistance tolerances.
