India as well :P

I saw on a news report that the Chinese love big American gas-guzzlers, as they showed a video clip of a Chinese man driving a pimped out H2 Hummer.
They used to export oil around the globe, but now they're importing like crazy, and the volume of which they're importing is growing exponentially :P

So demand is obviously increasing at a torrid pace, whilst the supply end is getting worse with so many issues; Nigeria, Gulf of Mexico vs Hurricanes, oil companies slacking on the exploring of new sources, the US having to dip into reserves to match demand just in the US.

Just when I want to buy my first truck, this happens :P

I've seen reports that part of the reason gas costs a lot is so many states/counties/localities pass laws that require a particular blend of gas, and that you can't mix the blends. So the production and distribution system has to deal with dozens (or more) blends of gas.

2.47 was what I paid for my last fill up, in Century City. I live in the San Fernando Valley and the prices are the same and higher depending on where you fill up.
I commute around 50 miles every day in my 2003 Expedition...
I cringe to think of gas being more than 3 bucks a gallon....Thank Goodness Sinjin uses Public transportation to get to work and the Mustang is for the weekend... 2 of us paying these prices to commute would be aweful.

This is why I'm looking forward to the new WalMart gas station in my hometown, prices a little lower, probably not much, but any bit helps with these prices. It's never been higher than like 2.01-2.02 around where I live, but it's like 2.15 now.

$2.40 for regular, give or take a dime. Been paying over $50 to fill the twin tanks for so long now it's almost normal. The big pain is also that most gas stations have an automatic shut off at $50 on a Mastercard, so i try to fill up before I run too low.

I just picked up 2.5 mpg by replacing the O2 sensor, so that'll help a little.

World demand will only grow and keep the prices up. The other problem in CA is no new refineries due to the NIMBYS ("not in my backyard") Demand outstrips supply even more. Then there's the DC crooks and the corn lobby, who are forcing CA to use oxygenated fuels, and since they banned MTBE (and rightly so) as a carcinogen, guess what they're using? Duh, corn ethanol. This even though solid science shows that oxygenates are no longer needed with the new engines and fuel blends.

Wish someone would make an effective Hybrid hauler or something. Maybe I'll get a Segway...nah, don't think it'll haul the horses. Heyyyy, that's it, a CHARIOT! The original Segway!! Make those hay burners earn a living. Ben Hur hubs an everthang!

I just filled up my VW for $8. Gas is .25/gallon. Oh wait! That was in 1964. Sorry, I was dreaming. Gas here is running $2.34 to $2.49 for regular unleaded. Ah, for the good old days.

Correction on that last post. The tank held 8 gallons and the cost to fill was $2. My math ability is decreasing with age.

Spent $42 to top off the van before a trip last w/e. Filled one tank and topped off the other one. I'd rather fill up the tanks while it sits, but I need to drop both tanks soon to fix the fuel senders. Not fun going on trips and having to guess how much gas is left.

Fortunately for me, I have a daily driver that'll go 600+ miles on 13 gallons of deisel.

It is 2-20ish around here, I am debating on selling the PSD, getting rid of the payments before it really sucks to have to drive it.

Gas - $2.03 reg.
$2.23 Super

Diesel - $2.26

Maybe the first presidential candidate who says he'll lower the price's as soon as he's elected, will be elected. It might just be more BS but he'll get the voters attention!
I say we just take over Iraq and start shipping that oil at $20 a barrel over here ASAP.
I know, I'm dreaming but that would be nice, gasoline at 75 cents a gallon again!!!

Hey, if they can do it, I'll be in line to get all of the above. If its cheap it meets my needs. Of course a WalMart car wouldnt be the best of quality, so maybe I'll pass on that one. but gas is gas in my opinion, I know different stuff can be done to gas to make it a little different. but if it runs my truck for the lowest price, I'm up for it. It's not like itsa Mercedes, it's an old beat up truck. Funny post tho Deuce, haha.

Right at $2.00 a gallon around Atlanta for the cheap stuff (if you can call it that). I wish supply and demand economics were relevant pertaining to gasoline. Then maybe the price wouldn't irritate me so bad. But when you know the oil is just sitting over there 'cause some fat cat wants to hoard it to control the economy.... man, that just tears it!
