When I left Reno in early May, gas was $2.07/gallon. I talked to a friend of mine and he said it topped at $2.49/gallon for regular in July.

I sold gas for $0.039 per gallon many moons ago... Maybe I should have filled up some 55 gallon drums and buried them in the back yard!!!

You would have needed a lot of bottles of Sta-Bil.

Ok, you win in the land down under.

Diesel is going up again in the LA area. I saw $2.23 where regular gasoline is $1.97.

Southeast Texas right now, averaging about 1.80 per gal and if you look hard enough you can find it for 1.74 if you have a Kroger's card.

Diesel is approx 3-5 cents above 87 octane petrol.

Gas prices have gotten so ridiculous I'm actually pondering buying some futures contracts on gasoline just so I'll have my own private stash of relatively cheap gas. Lord knows where I'll store it though, since usually you can't write a contract for less than 1000 gallons.

Acually they aren't very rediculous at all and infact it may interest you to know that when you figure out the average income of people inflation exct the price of gas is no higher now than in the 50's
