Getting t-stat housing loose...

Getting t-stat housing loose...

On a 91 F150 300 I6. The housing cracked into 2 pieces yesterday. So I got a new one from Autozone but I can't get the old one disconnected from the the piece that screws into it. It is the one with the sensor in it that connects a heater hose that goes to the firewall. Was going to disconnect the hose but I honestly don't know how these hose clamps work. Never seen any like them. Loosening the screw doesn't do anything. Anyways, been using a pipe wrench and can't get the housing loose. Is it reverse threaded??

Any advice would be great.
