Looks more like the passenger's side hood hinge stuck and he forced it. I've noticed on my truck that the hinges seem to creak and stick a lot, and I've been diligent about spraying them with white lube.
Think about it, if it popped UP going down the road, it would bend BACK, not forward...
Hopefully the P.O. did not mess up anything else...
Well I'm beginning to doubt any of the past owners knew what they were doing. The truck has a 2-3" body lift, and I've noticed that the 4x4 selector moves up and down. Is it supposed to do that? And the oil was pitch black, like it was 30k miles old, not even 13k like was suggested. The guy chewed me out for not knowing if the truck had frame damage and then he doesn't mention any of the problems with this truck.
Its not too bad, I defenately wouldn't do anything in it like I would in a Camaro. The person who lifted it did quite a good job if I say so myself, I just need some bigger meats.

too bad, i just sold my 35x12.4x15's with aluminum rims for 400 shipped.
This post might get deleted but, If the 4x4 shift mechanism, the aluminum piece that the shifter bolts into and it bolts into the tranny is broke. I have a brand new one, $80 from ford, i installed it after i broke the original one, to just rip the tcase out and swap in a NP205 which needed completely different shifters. I need to get rid of it.
